My wife Anne, daughter Catherine (21), and son Patrick (15). I live in the beautiful Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia not far from K12 headquarters in Herndon, VA. For a person interested in science the state of West Virginia is like a wonderland!

I am passionate about my job:

…because education is the sunlight and water that allows human beings to grow. Arguably there is no better way to improve the world than to improve the quality of education. With technology innovations of the past generation, we are at a unique, important time in which this goal can be accomplished!

My educational background includes

A degree in Mathematics from Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, PA, and many post-graduate credits in Astronomy, Meteorology and Geology.

My professional background includes

17 years of classroom teaching physics, other science and math and working as a NASA educational consultant.

On weekends I like to

Play games (Chess, Madden 2010, NBA2K), watch live sporting events, coach basketball, follow my favorite sports teams, blog, exercise, geek out on advancements in science and mathematics, travel.
