Online Learning: Where Do You Go For Help?

Deciding to enroll your children in an online school has it's own set of challenges. And because online education is still what some may consider "different", we realize that parents need robust resources and support to help - whether it's to hear about fresh ideas, gain a more indepth perspective about online education or just simply talk to someone who "gets it" and can offer advice.

We also know that no one family is alike, which is why we offer many different types of programs and resources to help families - whether they are already living and learning the online education lifestyle or are just starting to look into the possiblities that online learning can offer.

National Support for Parents

The K¹² National Parent Network is available any time of the day, all year long to get help, support, and valuable information for your online education journey. You will find resources and workshops, live and recorded, on a wide variety of topics related to online education:

  • School Effectively at Home series of live and recorded sessions to learn great techniques for working with your student daily while parenting around the clock.

  • Parent Clubs and Communities are now open as well—join in to share your interests in technology, books, the military life, and more.

  • The Parent Refresher series gives you the chance to brush up on your math and writing skills—things you might be rusty on or that you might have forgotten from your own years in school.

  • If you want to connect with other K¹² parents in real time, Parent2Parent is the place for you. No presentations or specific topics here; just a chance to sit around the virtual kitchen table and chat about online schooling with other K¹² parents. Share ideas, ask questions, laugh, and maybe make some new friends!

The complete schedule of events and information is available for our currently enrolled families and can be found at K12 Start. Look for the link in the announcement section of your OLS.
