We are really excited to introduce the K12 College and Career workshop series we have created to help middle and high school students discover ways to identify their interests and use that information to explore what their life may look like after high school: college, careers, and beyond.
Six Reasons to Attend A K12 College and Career Workshop
- You will learn the important relationship between high school performance and real life experience when it comes to college majors and career choice.
- You will gain insight into your own interests, values and preferences.
- You will begin to explore the different choices available once you graduate high school.
- You will understand what goes into college application and admissions processes.
- You will explore the world of work in relation to your own personal goals and be better able to make informed career decisions.
- You will understand the tools and resources available be able to further research your college and career interests.
The K12 College and Career workshops are hosted live by experts in college and career planning most Fridays at 2p ET and each one will focus on a different theme.
Our first workshop is focused around career exploration for our Pre-Teen students is scheduled for tomorrow and is specifically for our Middle School students and families.
When I grow up… Career Exploration for Pre-Teens (6-8)
What do I like to do? What’s important to me? How can I identify my interests and explore careers that are right for me? How can I help my child explore their own unique path?
In this session you will learn about the career exploration process from school counselors. Speakers will help you understand how to identify the relationship between your skills, interest and abilities and the relevance to careers that may be a good match for you. You’ll learn about K12 tools and resources as well as practical activities for ongoing career exploration and planning. And finally, you’ll have an opportunity to ask questions and discuss ideas for future exploration.
