Back to School Events Around the Country

Back to school gatherings are important events on any school calendar. It's a time to meet your teacher, find out what your children will learn during the year, and meet others in your community.

Back to School events were held across our schools as we began the school year.  And because we partner with the local districts and schools, many of our schools add their own local touch to these events to create fun family affairs.

Here's a look at a few of the many, many events held this month around the country...

Arkansas Virtual Academy Back-to-School Night and Book Fair

ARVA families and staff came out for two back-to-school events at the Barnes & Noble bookstores in Fayetteville and Little Rock.  Families enjoyed crafts, scavenger hunts, story time, and student presentations!  Students proudly displayed their work in a gallery, while others chose to do presentations of their work and talents—everything from science projects, poetry readings, artwork, musical performance and Irish dance!  It was a fun time for the school community to enjoy while supporting their parent lending library through book fair funds earned.

Arizona Virtual Academy Back to School Events

AZVA held 21 Back to School events across the state at local Pizza Parlors.  They hosted icebreakers to introduce students to each other and lots of opportunities to connect with other students at their school and in their grade. 

Utah Virtual Academy Back to School Events

UTVA hosted Back to School Events as a way for families to get a taste of what's happening at their school.  They held events at Willow Park & Zoo, Lion's Park, Discovery Gateway Museum, and even held a local Wii Party.

This is just a small fraction of the back to school events held across our schools.  You can find event calendars on each school's website with a listing of all of their upcoming events. Unless noted, all events are open to the school community and the general public.
